(I don't have a log of this it's easy to re-create the situation)

Ok the issue is this, as a warlock with an elemental I feel that casting my spells such as fireball etc should not cause my elemental to turn around and rape me, though it doesn't happen. Here's what I did:

Cast fireball into an agacent room, the enemies walked in
Enemies attack my elemental
I cast fireball several times (4-5) killing a few enemies with it
Continue fighting in melee combat
Suddenly with like 3 enemies left, my elemental turns on me and attacks
And I'm forced to flee

Shouldn't elementals not attack you even if you cast room spells, they're charmed?!?!

When you fireball a room your affecting everything in it. It's an aggresive action so who ever is hit by it will attack you, including your own group. It makes sense that your elemental would get angry and attack you if your going to attack it first, doesn't it?

Attacking your pet cancels charm, wouldn't you stop liking someone if they start fireballing/smacking you? Breaks charm person and store pets too.

Elementals never break charm, no matter what.

That's whats stupid it says something like:

"A blah elemental tries to attack you"

or something on those lines, or it does attack you, either way as soon as you flee, the elemental follows you and stops. Which just wastes time, if it doesn't break charm (which im happy it doesnt) then it shouldn't attack you in the first place.

I can repeat the expirement and log it if you guys want to see that.

EDIT: Also, when you fb the room YOU start attackign your elemental, which probably shouldnt happen either (forces you to flee also)

I think the elemental spells should react according to the type of elemental the warlock is summoning. Take, for example, fireball: it should heal a fire elemental in the same way that a necro can 'cause light' his undead for healing. It should do no damage to an earth elemental. A water elemental should nullify its effectiveness, and a wind elemental should amplify it.

But, in any case, the fireball should not harm your elemental.

Just a thought that might make things more interesting.

That could be cool I agree, though I don't think it'll go in too soon oO, nothing ever does.

Either way, it's still annoying that I end up attacking my elemental after a while because it targets him automatically.

In My experiences with my warlock an elemental will not attack you if you stand behind it nor will it just suddenly stop and attack you if previously in combat.
