I dont get any messages that i block blows with my shield but it keeps degrading.

You slash at A large Salvarian's chest, causing only a minor wound.
A large black horse charges at A large Salvarian's right toe, bruising it slightly.
A large black horse wipes its boots in the face of A large Salvarian!
A large black horse charges at A large Salvarian's left finger, bruising him slightly.
A large black horse charges at A large Salvarian's chest, smashing a small but painful, wound.
A series of fractures appears on a gilded dwarven war shield!
A large Salvarian's pierce at your chest is deflected by a wolf's head breastplate.
Overall, A large Salvarian has some small wounds and bruises.

You don't have to shield block for your shield to get hit and broken.
Not a bug.

Well I havnt seen myself block a single blow since wearing the shield and I have the skill average, which isnt high i guess but it should at least happen once in a while.


Also wanted to point out that he only struck my chest, not the arm so i dont see how it would have struck my shield.

In my opinion if you have a shield, you always try and block the attack, the problem is the guy hits hard enough to knock the shield out of the way and then hit you, or he hits fast enough to avoid the shield. You failed to shield block so he smashed through your shield to hit you.

Well i got it trained some more and got a new shield and now its working good. Dont know what the problem was oh well. :oops:

The most common error is trying to use a shield that is not the same size that you are. That lowers your chance of shield blocking to almost 0. Regardless of that though, wielding a shield still subtracts from the amount of damage you take from most blows. That's true even if you don't have the shield block skill.

Well killed a dwarf for the gilded dwarven warshield in Teron, maybe they are size small or soemthign to go with the dwarves never thought of that. But ti works a whole lot since i bought a new one.

Yes thoes shields are size small since they were made for a dwarf wich are size small.
