Okay.. dunno how to explain -this- exactly.

Code:
write zhenshi - bla bla bla, I type up a nice note. Use $*, then .f, and my normal note becomes..

hƒJ
l‘¿¿Ep ˆ•
ˆ•
hƒJ
p        ~
Üê: hƒJ
ˆ•

To be more specific, I wrote up a note in Zhensh, and used the $* tag to insert a few blank lines for formatting. My extensive speech then became crap.

One of the reasons I write out my notes in notepad or such before even going to the mud with them. That and spellcheck

Did you use the .f (format) command more than once? I recall getting errors if I type something up, format it, decide to add something, and formating it again.

Ugh, and I finally saw evidence that this bug had been worked on in game.
No wonder everyone is throwing rotten eggs at me again when I suggest they write some notes IC to communicate what's going on.

*sighs*

I like to write mine in notepad, so that the lines don't 'bleed' to the next. You control when to goto next line, when to goto next paragraph, and you get to proof read it or whatever. Then you just paste line by line into the editor.

In the editor mode after you type 'write zhensh', if you want an empty line, you just hit enter once, and it's done.

I know this is not solution to the 'bug' being mentioned but it's a temporary work around.

IF you enter hard carriage returns in your editor,
and IF you use $* ONLY on lines you wish to be blank
and IF you do not use .f, you can use cut and paste for
multiple lines of text. I don't recommend more than
30 or so at a time. If you attempt too many lines at once
there's a buffering issue and you'll get kicked from the game.
(not a crash to the system, just your character)

I format everything I write by hand before applying colors and input everything eight lines at a time in copy/paste to the MUD while writing everything -- and I do everything in notepad before I actually post anything at all.

Not sure if this is related or not, but every now and then I'll get snippets of CB or tells or even descriptions when I use .f. I've sent logs of this in the past, can't get it to duplicate, seems to happen a few times every 3-6 months. I havn't seen it in a while so I don't know if it has been fixed or not.
