So my newbie Scorc buys a dog for a pet and walks down the road with it in front of her only to find that it stops and doesn't follow every couple of spaces. It's not tired, it's part of my group and I've ordered the mangy mutt to follow me multiple times. After a short time the problem goes away.

Later I'm in a group with someone else and the problem returns. Again it's part of the group, been ordered to follow but stops every space or two. This was even in a different city.

While it's amusing to think like a real dog it wanted to stop and sniff everything along the way, I'm beginning to think I'm a pet moron and am doing something wrong.

try logging out and back in. that fixes such problems some times

What you speak of does sound like a bug, and I've seen it happen before on random occasions. Perhaps try using a different NPC?

Tried the logging out and back in thing. What I posted previously was in fact in different sessions, so it wasn't fixed by that.

Different character I've had it happen with a horse and a dragon so maybe I'm just not destined to have pets. :(

Did you mess at all with auto follow? I've had some pets not want to follow me after toggling auto follow on and off.

Some times the pets pick up things and will not move because they have something within their inv

I thought that too.

Also a good possibility.

In the end, I've decided a Swashie makes a better pet. He can hold more, take more damage and keeps me amused while I'm at it!
