I think the confiscation process still needs some tweaks. I turned myself in for attempted murder of four NPCs the other day. They cut off both arms, both legs. I DROPPED 2x horseshoes, 2x ring, 2x wristband, shield, and weapon, and then they confiscated 3 weapons and a helm. Cant it be changed so the items go to your inventory, or perhaps they confiscate the item that falls out when they remove your limb? Losing 12 items that day- the rest were junked- was a little harsh.
