Dirt Kick and Counterstrike

Ok.

Is this suppose to happen? I didn't think that this could happen.

Dirt kick, malediction castings all initiate combat but don't flag your formation as "in-combat" and therefore the first strike from your formation after the dirt kick/malediction cast is still subject to counterstrike.

I reported this to Dulrik with malediction castings and he said it wasn't a bug.

Did it always used to be this way? I seems to remember a time where this was not the case.

No, it happened after the no-walkout-from-back-ranks code update.

OA is actually wrong. It's been this way since I started playing back in 2001, and I suspect before then.

Still don't understand why counterstrike doesn't fire off when knocked prone though.
