Horseshoes have always functioned as armor though? Considering you wear one pair that functions as armor and the second as a weapon, maaaaybe you're kicking with you hind-legs and deflecting with your front? Worse enough having very little leg armor available to the Centaur.

All they have are shoes for feet, and some lightweight barding scattered around...and leg protection is valuable (broken legs suck).

You could argue and say that when you kick as a centaur, you're kicking with the hinds, then turning back around to face the target? Honestly, Smoochy isn't sure how Griffons kick..more like "clawing" or "pawing", but whatevers. Meh. Its all text-based combat, so its really how you want to look at it...

It does seem more like a feature then a bug, not to pry or nothin'.


EDIT: Just noticed it said "studded" copper horseshoes..

Finally had a chance to look into this. Although there is a minor bug, it's not that the foot (or hand) weapons are providing armor. Their protective value is correctly 0. But centaurs have their own hide armor. It's this which is actually doing the deflection, and the bug is that it is incorrectly reported as the horseshoes.

Fair enough. Glad to hear they were providing 0 armor, and it was just racial AC that caused the deflection.

On a possibly related note, I've had the diamond claws from the minotaurs in Krychire deflect blows like armor.

Or, rather, after looking at this, was it then Toughness that was acting as armor (barbarian using wild fighting claws), but the output was saying it was the claws?
