Not instantly. But you might die on the next tick. The probabilities depend on how far out of age bounds you are as a result of the spell.

Your spirit is always it's original race. So there's no barrier to coming back to life, unless you were also already past venerable age in your original race. If that was the case, then you would not be able to come back to life.
