You step out of the shadows.
You dismount from a night-runner.
You plummet to your death!
Your equipment is scattered beyond retrieval.
You have been KILLED!!

A night-runner stops following you.
You no longer feel stealthy.
Your disguise wears off.
You are no longer invisible.
You feel less righteous.
You no longer see in the dark.
Your force shield shimmers then fades away.
You feel less protected.


If you recall while on a flying mount from a room you cannot land in, it causes you to dismount, then recall. I would have expected that your prayer to go home would be answered, and then you fall from the height you were at on your mount, only taking some damage. Is this a bug?

If not, everybody be warned not to attempt this.

I once save quit while flying over the top of menegroth.
I wouldn't reccomend doing that either. ;)

This is one of those changes that is up there with recall costing xp.

When I first started playing my last hellion, Ksenia, I accidentally closed my client which caused my character to dismount her flying mount, and of course be killed, because reasons.

I don't understand in a game where you can be burninated to death by magma, dissolved by acid, be absolutely shredded by harm, the act of defenestrating someone from the third story will junk all of their loot.

Dang, this still happens? That sucks.

Would definitely be nice to see dismounting happen after recalling, although the code might be a bit wonky. It really stinks to lose all your gear like that given that few other exploration avenues get you junk-looted, but at least now you know. Can anyone confirm whether this happens on casting/quaffing word of recall? I think it only happens on the recall command.

This does not happen when quaffing word of recall or casting word of recall because the pet comes with you.
