I'm not sure what secret area you're referring to, but the bakemono caves are good for flamestrike training since it's one of the few areas with low level grouped NPCs. I consider the change positive since there is a non-buggy way to get in with a pet. Even if you don't have a way to fly your way out, you can always sacrifice your pet and recall out. I do wish the script were adjusted to allow the rope to be used to climb back up, but it's better than a death trap at least.
