What in the world happened here?

Dulrik is aware of this bug, stealing NPCs are able to steal from containers due to the new coin coding.

Why you only got 4 platinum instead of 5 I have no idea.

But a tick did pass in between your two peeks. Maybe for some reason the monkey's gold was refactored.

They can only steal coin and it has to do with the weird new coding

Were you perhaps carrying 3 copper before the theft?

I only stole 4000, just the plat.

I know you stole 'plat', but it seemed coincidental that the figures add up correctly if three assumptions are made:

1. The code intepreted your 'plat' target as (effectively) 'coin'
2. You got a partial success, and
3. You were carrying 3 copper at the start of the log.

To rule out needing to make any such assumptions, I suppose the better response is that for anyone replicating this bug in the future, please check your amount of coin carried prior to the theft so we have a known starting point.
