I don't know which way this is supposed to be, but the current way doesn't make much sense.
In the first example, it appears that earthquake is indeed magic, as the halberd with its "feet" on the ground is completely unphased by the earthquake. But in the second example, the earth elemental is tossed around by it. It makes sense to me that earth elementals are affected by earthquake, but if so, I would expect golems to be as well.
Code:
You utter the words, 'zabrahpdjatz'.
Your spell has no effect on a matte-black halberd.
The earth trembles beneath your feet!
A matte-black halberd misses an air elemental.
Code:
You utter the words, 'zabrahpdjatz'.
The earth trembles beneath your feet!
Your violent tremor batters an earth elemental's body as it is tossed about.

On a related topic, is magma spray supposed to not land on golems as well?
Code:
You utter the words, 'waowa gsgrul'.
Your spell has no effect on an iridescent cutlass.

In SK, there is a different between golems and elementals.
If you play a sorc, you can polymorph into all four different kinds of elementals and golems all seperately.

Golems in SK just happen to be innately immune entirely to spells, this includes spells that don't have saves.
Edit: I don't think all golems are on second thought. Its just certain ones that are immune to magic.

I am pretty sure you cannot polymorph into a golem. Only things that are alive.

Earthquake is to earth elementals as fireball is to fire elementals. Or at least that's how it should be.

That's what I'm saying, or since the spell is the earth violently shaking, (i.e. non magical even if its magically induced) then golems should be vulnerable to. Either way works, really, but if earthquake is a magical event, then earth elementals would be immune to it. But if earthquake is a magical induced, NONmagical event (if I had telekinesis, I could mentally throw a knife at you, and your magical immunity would not stop it from slicing you open) then both sets should get hit.

I understand that thinking like this can really make you question the entire way warlocks operate, but I'm just wondering with this spell if this is the way its supposed to be, since its not consistent at all.

And though I've not had a grandmaster sorceror, I've never been able to polymorph into a golem.

That could be said about alot of things if you're wanting to put it that way.

(fireballs still slam into the golem, why wouldnt it hurt them? flamestrike, hellfire, special harly room changing spell, etc...all the same concept.)

The ground would still move beneath them, but they're unaffected by it. Because it's magic, a different kind of magic but still magic.

It's the way the game mechanics work, magic immune = all spells, not just particular ones.

Got to remember that this is fantasy, and things dont work the same way it would in real life.

So why do earth elementals get hit? Air elementals are unaffected by chain lightning because lightning is supposed to be air. All I'm saying is it should be consistent between the two. I don't really care which way it goes, but if earthquake is magic then why aren't earth elementals immune? But if earth elementals are affected because its nonmagic I'd expect golems to be the same.

That's all I'm saying. Fireball doesn't affect fire elementals nor golems because they're both immune. But earthquake affects earth elementals and not golems because...?

It should probably affect golems, but I don't think this is a huge bug. But I'll fix it anyway.

Awesome, thanks!

Yeah I don't think you really encounter many golems, except for the pets, until very high level areas, and I can't imagine that allowing a warlock to hit golems with earthquake there while prove to be the deciding factor. If anything, its allowed people to train with the golem pets in areas with magic dispellers. But thanks all the same.
