Apophis, you completely missed the blatant sarcasm of my previous posts. The only reason I posted at all was because of an experienced player whining about the spell when his newbie was caught in it and he couldn't keep plevelling his char as fast as possible (or whatever he was doing). And, I mean, really...it's -Jardek- who posted.

Those cabals that have a power that affects the area around them are limited in that they need to be concentrated. Warped space is the only that causes such an active and serious effect with 0 concentration.
It also has the drawbacks of massive mana cost and the room effect only lasts for ~10-15 minutes. Plus, it seems to be alot easier to dispel after this update.

Point 2 that was addressed:
Newbies. When Jardek said that warp, in its current form, cripples entrances to newbies, he raised a VERY important issue. When you, Naarn, replied that "Whatever. Personally I'd be excited to see that as a Newbie", you made a mistake. Why?
Because a) "Whatever" is not exactly a good way to react towards something that has to do with keeping this game alive. And that's new players.
b) YOU liking a spell as it is now, in no way means that the WORLD agrees with you. Unless you're some sort of a multi-million human hive mind, and we don't know yet. Personally, if I was a newbie and ran into that, I'd get very -very- frustrated. So, whose opinion counts the most now? yours or mine? Here's a hint. Everybody's. So, instead of saying that something should stay as it is because YOU LIKE IT, try spending a bit more time coming up with a reason that hasn't got to do with you eh?
C'mon dude, go back to Psych 101 or wherever your elite text analyzing skills came from. I don't give a flying f*** what happens to the spell. I was just posting my
opinion on the arguments raised for changing it. I never claimed that my opinion was the penultimate defense against the arguments presented regarding changing the spell.
I have nothing but respect for newbies, and I always go out of my way to help and twink out random players. The room effect of the spell could be construed as a detriment to newbs, but the relatively minor inconvenience caused by it is most likely overshadowed by the aspects of the game that the newbie is then introduced to as a result of experiencing it. I've seen alot of newbs who have run into warped space asking more advanced players or mentors what's up, and as a result, being introduced to cabals in general, not to mention interaction with other characters.
In other words, warped space should be seen -more- often in the game...newbies would all be better off as a result...low PE and all.
