I'd posit that headbutt's effectiveness was improved sometime in the last few months, since it lands knockout a lot more than i remember it doing when I first started playing. On one of my current characters, I've been knocked out via headbutt at least 4 times now (twice in the same hour), whereas I've seen fellow PCs go hundreds of headbutt attempts without a single knockout.

My giant barb with headbutt superb could land a headbutt maybe 30% of the time, it seems NPCs could land it > 70%...just my experience though.

I do enjoy showing off headbutt while helping lowbies. The chance of knocking a very low level (< level 20) foe unconcious seems to be pretty good for a GM with mastered headbut. However, against anything over level 20... well its not nearly as effective. N_G

Griffons get the uber shaft on headbutt because of how it is based on the material of the helmet.

Griffons get the uber shaft in general, but yes, that too and specifically.

Okay, why in the world can't Griffons wear helmets? It isn't like their heads are vastly different from anyone else's. I never got it.

That whole helmet claim is just an urban legend.

In fact, bird heads ARE vastly different. The entire shape is different. No ears, no chin and you have a beak. Think about it before you post?

So, unless it is a full-face helm. They can wear helms. Thanks for agreeing with me.
