Balance.

Making songs cross the ethereal barrier would be a huge buff to bards. I don't think they need it.

Bards who are not ethereal cannot help or hinder anyone who is ethereal because the sound gets garbled as it transitions from the physical plane to the ethereal plane. I accept this explanation with a single minor little requirement. Any and all communication between the physical plane and the ethereal plane must needs also be garbled.

That'd be kind of cool really, and I figured I'd see such a reply as I was posting that.

It's just my take on why it would make sense, to go with the mechanics of bards already having ways of entering the ethereal plane and raping casters anyways.

To get really technical with a reason that makes sense for people in the ethereal plane to still be able to hear normal conversation, yet not be affected by bard songs. We could just say that during the transition to other planes sound loses it's fine tuning, and sound waves with particularly high peaks and troughs are filtered out due to... We'll say the increased levels of atomic activity occuring between the planes of existence, and as such only sound waves that don't exceed an activity level of around 120 decibels(the threshold for short-term hearing loss) are able to penetrate to the ethereal plane.

....yeah

......

Man that was some fantastic [REDACTED].

After a brief discussion with thunder, I can say I have a better understanding of why the logic ace can be trumped by the balance jack. I don't like it because I'm too into logic but I can understand it. My inability in PvP makes my understanding of the balance trump cards very poor.

You mean it wasn't my awesome application of psuedo logical physics applied to magical fantastical situations?

I'm rather crushed.

I have to admit your creativity is creatively creative but she threw in just enough logic to torture my mind with her balance card.

In other words, there is no love, you've been placated, and can feel free to be crushed.

Sypher, thunder told me to give you flowers. So I decided I'm going to send you a Monk's Hood bouquet. Dine with pleasure.
