Since when has this been a problem? I have seen multiple Brittas lying around shattered kingdoms as gate anchors for years and years and years.

Just don't have Achernar or anyone telling me I'm making the game bad for the playerbase if you won't allow us to have charmable summonable NPCs that can duplicate themselves and we'll have to use unique ones that might be trainers or anything.

I can live with that, but players will start crying rivers of tears as always.

Any NPC that has a name should be unique, period. And the standard starting area NPCs should all be uncharmable and unsummonable. That is all.

Why? I can summon and charm you if you're in a starting city. The more I play this game the more I see people crying for RP over tactics, whereas the game clearly outlines that both are important (and indeed in this case there is no IC reasoning behind the issue, merely ooc complaining).

I'll tell you what. You have them uncharmable and unsummonable, cool. And I will sit there and kill every single newbie who uses them. After all, if everyone can't have them, then nobody should. Who gets to make that decision? Why, me, of course!




lol, I just reminded myself of how funny your argument is, pushing40. MAKE NPCs UNIQUE WHO HAVE NAMES BECAUSE IT'S IC! AND THEN MAKE THEM UNSUMMONABLE AND UNCHARMABLE BECAUSE... UM... JUST DO IT OKAY

Clarification: The teacher NPCs in the starting areas should be protected from twinkery for the sake of new chars who need them. I see it as game-enforced OOC consideration for the new guy since some prawns can't be trusted to be considerate otherwise.

So some things should be IC to suit you, and some things should be ooc to suit you.

Make up your mind. It suits the playerbase, apparently, to allow for multiples of named characters. Perhaps they should be unnamed, like skins and steaks! Then there wouldn't be any problem at all - after all, it's not like they've greeted you.

This is what I am hearing from the twinkies in this thread:

twinkie 1: I am a hypocrite, I want a bunch of [REDACTED] wimped as long as it isn't mine!

twinkie 2: If I want to be an [REDACTED] to new players allow me. It isn't my fault if new players quit due to frustration.

Newbie school teachers should all be unsummonable, uncharmable. There should be others that should be also, but only to keep game balance. All named npc's should most definitely unique. If they want multiple copies of the NPC, get one that isn't named.
