Way to misunderstand the point. The charm was flying. This change was implemented as a response to those who charmed people and flew them over cities to release flight on them.

Obviously, you are PERFECTLY capable of junking someone easily when you land a charm without the use of this, but it was a prevalent tactic some two years back, which sparked this change.


How am I supposed to know the charm was flying?

That does not matter, what matters is this change was stupid and needs to be taken away when it comes to NPC's so a sorc isn't completely useless while doing some things and so that they don't lose weapons etc when they make a simple mistake.

On jaeyd i've lost several charm weapons when forgetting about it and trying to fly above teron...It sucks. -blushes-

The change is just stupid. Absolutely nothing good comes from it because you can still:

o all remove all
o all drop all
j all

And any sorc can kill someone after charming them, without flying them over a city.

Since you can still do this, the change only affects the use of charm on npc's. I don't think there is anyone at all who thought that the use of charm on npc's needed to be nerfed in this way.

The trick is finding new, creative ways to kill them while incorporating the mandatory RP. I have some ideas I should test on a NPC for feasibility.

Sorcs are already the top class from what most of you say and can do a ton of stuff solo. So you are asking that a change that gives them a weakness be removed?

That's a pretty good point. Maybe I'm biased from having just played a sorc and having to deal with the inconvenience.

I think my reasoning was that this change had -minimal- effect in pvp, and really was just an annoyance. My complaint about sorcs has been their power in pvp coupled with their survivability in pvp, not with their utility, though it does make sense to take utility under consideration when deciding if a class is OP.
