Are you sure about that, OA? I've never played a bard so I won't say you're wrong, but my experience suggests that the level of the bard is a factor that decides what items he can lore.

Quite sure. If you wanted, you could train lore at Amateur, and if you could get it to mastered, you could divine just as much as a GM who also had lore mastered. It's a common misunderstanding that character level determines success with loring keywords, but it's purely based on level of mastery.

I've had like three bards and i'm almost certain level plays a part in what you can and cannot lore.
