when i was using the disguise spell from harlequins on my barb if i used AoN it would remove that spell. It should be the same with IA.

This isn't the case. AoN doesn't drop that spell. If you lost it, it was due to lack of int. It has a high concentration cost.

Sounds like MR barbs holding spells on themselves while firing AoN is imbalanced and contradicts the purpose of both MR barbs and AoN. Now, the post you're responding to refers to specific cabals because that was the counterargument. That suddenly MR barbs are not viable because of a few cabal abilities? I maintain my stance. MR barbs shouldn't have their cake and eat it too. EF, IA, and that harlequin ability should all be dropped and absorbed into healing when a barb fires AON. Why do I only refer to those three cabals? Because no other cabal skillset has a concentration based buff.

If aura of negation causes MR barbarians to drop self-only cabal spells, they will gain very little by joining most cabals. I agree there are not enough drawbacks to an MR build, but this is not the correct way to balance it.

The reason they seem so tough is because of the ability to spam eat mistletoe - not because of cabal spells.

that spell had its concentration lowered and i could sleep fury and that spell. But if i used AoN after i had that spell up it would drop everytime.

I assure you, I am very well aware of the concentration cost of that spell. Sleeping and being in combat are different things. AoN does not kill that spell.

...I know that's what you're saying. I'm saying you're wrong.

Insofar as I can tell only one cabal MR barb can do this because knocking them prone is not an option. Because of cabal spells. So I disagree with you.

I agree that a barbarian using AoN should have all of his buffs dropped, including self-cast buffs.

An MR barbarian in the Hammer would still be very good, but will have to use AoN more strategically. Remember that an entirely unbuffed hambarb is going to beat the crap out of an entirely unbuffed barb in any other faction on account of the OTHER hammer skills. They should have to choose between being immune to bash and dispelling their opponents.

That MR barb is an idiot. There's no reason you shouldn't keep aura of negation up 24/7.

I think this should change.

The old game balance adage states, "If you're stupid to not have it, it is probably unbalanced."

But by all measurements this game doesn't try to make a balanced playing field. Again, not knocking it, but we have to keep remembering that we can't use our modern gaming logic when we're talking about a system so entrenched in the Old Ways.
