You can buy good scrolls anyway with many spells inside(including etherealform that is what we speak about). Not to mention it's far easier to get mirror image scrolls than MI staves or wands.

As the game is right now, scrolls >>> wands. Because getting powerful scrolls is very easy nowadays and all you need is a sorc and/or necro friend and you can be unstoppable.

They are so fragile because their skill set is all fubarred. They are given a massive amount of melee skills but no survival melee skills.
