With Ivstnesr it always hit me. It does not now with Heflin! I do not mind, it makes the spell more viable..

My warlock has been around since before the changes (I think he started a little ways before ivstnesr died) and I've never been hit by chain lightning, not once. I even remeber throwing up RE to protect myself and eventually realized that it never came near me. If there's only one other person in the room(no pet or elemental), it works just like a regular lightning bolt spell: hits once and done.

1) Use resist elements.
2) Cast it from range.

I suppose this makes sense, but it definitely makes me a sad panda.

People need to realize that in close-range combat, chain lightning wasn't a great choice anyway.

As far as I know, that due to damage differential, most people only used chain lightning in pve. Which I don't see the issue and if you used it in pvp, for it to be effective, there should only be 3 other targets (ele, enemy, and enemy's pet).

Chain lightning is still rather effective in pk, not just in-your-face PK.

It's not a bug, been like that for AGES. And it's meant to be like that. What would you think of an elementalist that can't control his own lightnings? Yes, he can control the entire weather in a whole area, but he can't control a few sparks of lightning, yeah...
