Looks like an item echo that ran to a glich and turned ugly.

He's right, it is an item echo and it's definately not supposed to look like that.

Does this error happen all the time? Was there anything particular about that gnome or the room/area that was different that may have caused it?

Definitely worth fixing, of course... but seems like a weird cause. I can't think why the space character would be replaced like that.

No, it just popped out of nowhere. The script came up before, of course, but those exact lines just popped up.

That was a script on Mira's symbol. Pretty, but doesn't do much. Don't know what happened to it.
