My bard is having some odd XP problems. At first I thought it was just me, but after numerous attempts to gain xp through alternate means i'm quite stumped.

My high apprentice bard is training in chib, where the villagers all con as much more powerful. I have 23 cha, and as of yesterday got about a tick per villager. After some training, i went and got a level and returned at AE to the next. I grouped up with someone else (2 levels lower) and we trained for a good two hours. When we went back to level, she had gotten 3 levels while i only had gotten 2 ticks (i trained level and then was at just begun). Now, today i've trained for 2 more hours and gotten no ticks. They still con as much more powerful. Thinking that maybe i was slicing the arms off too fast (unlikely but how the hell else am i not getting xp), i f minored 3 of them to death at the same time. No tick. I rested up and then f minored 5 of them to death at the same time. Still no tick.

What the hell?
(yes, i know SK hates me, and the IMMs, and God, etc. etc. but does anyone actually know why it seems to have stopped?)

edit: I just did a quest to gain a tick (long way to next) but killing villagers still isn't giving me anything.

I've noticed that in the past 3 days that it has become almost impossible to garner any xp through means of fighting, though in half an hour's time of spamming spells I gained half a level.

Something is definitely up.

I switched to the chancel and am getting a tick apiece now. It must have been an aura problem (except that i'm gray...).

still doesn't explain why xp was mad easy to get in the beginning. I guess i'll just have to stay confused :(

There's a slight bug with XP in a very specific situation right now, but it should be fixed on the next reboot. (I'll probably reboot tonight.)

Uh... did that specific situation apply to my case at all? My four hours of leveling for not a single tick makes me want to cry :(

There was a time when four hours of leveling would only get some people one tick. Sometimes not even that.

Quit yer bitchin'!

I don't think this situation is comparable. If people were leveling for 4 hours at level -20- in one of the best leveling areas in the game (aura appropriate, of course) and couldn't get one tick, i doubt they'd stick around.

Yes, i am aware of slow leveling- my merc GMed from spamming spells. 75 hours for 3 levels with only one great wis mod. It's one thing to slow a char's attempt to gain GM status, quite another to prevent a char from gaining low-level class-critical spells and skills.

Four hours and not gaining a tick would only describe somebody who is new to the game and completely helpless.

If I can do things in a different way and gain experience faster than a proven faster way then something was either changed or went wrong.

This is good to hear. I thought I was having training problems, because all of a sudden, it seems like one level changed the amount of time I needed a level 6-7 times what it was before.

Would you mind telling us what the situation was to see if it applies?

Thanxs

After the reboot last night/early this morning I've noticed that the XP I was getting droped from a nice steady rate to not a damn thing. You may want to check if it's stull fubared.
