Post subject:  Password syntax bug or typo

Not sure if this should be bug logged or typod, so opted to post here. I changed my character's password and then got booted off and when I tried to log in, it said that the password was invalid. However I followed the syntax in the helpfile (password <old-password> <new-password>). For some reason it picked up the space inbetween the two as part of the new password. I did not have either password in <> so I do not know if it makes a difference, if it does, I think it should be added to the helpfile to aid those of us who are not savy on this sort of thing.

<> are usually used to indicate that you type your password here (and not type in OldPassword NewPassword). I could be wrong.

Best bet: PM Dulrik. Your pfile may have been corrupted when you changed it. (Yes, corruption does happen).

Disclaimer: I've never used this at all to change my password. Perhaps it is buggy?

<> or [] in a helpfile indicate that you type the specified type of word there, not including the <> or [].

I'm confused. Did you figure out how to access your character or not?

I changed my pass a day ago. It works perfectly.
You dont need to put the <> or [].

My bad, I went and checked the section of my log and had it show all characters, I found out I put two spaces between the old and new passwords. Sorry for jumping the gun.
