I cast poison on my staff and wielded it. I was not poisoned before for any reason and then about a minute after maledicting the staff I was poisoned... The log didn't work but I looked very carfully for a message about something poisoning me anywhere and didnt get one, didnt eat anything either. Whats the haps?

If you hold the staff and cast a malediction on it(poison/plague/weaken/curse) the spell won't affect you, but the first target you hit with it.

If you have the weapon in the inventory, cast the spell and then wield it, it will hit you. To get rid of it, hit something with the weapon, it will no longer affect you and affect your target.
