While I understand why this was changed back when warlocks were the powerhouses of SK, I hardly think it is viable that a warlock cant even buy a pet and then conjure his elemental... I mean, a necro can buy a pet, go control a NPC and then raise 40 wights without breaking a sweat... All in all, give warlocks buyable pets back, there's no reason they shouldn't get them...

I totally second that. It is meaningless, and in the days when RE is so easilly to be found, warlocks already have a tough time. Not to mention that since art has been implemented, a warlock needs to train THAT as well, besides all the four stats he HAS to.

Warlocks need only some specific utility pets. I don't see why they can't buy them and then conjure their elemental, since a necro can have 34541345 undead AND his pet.

Warlocks don't need it because solo pk is dead. Except for the necromancer who is naturally a loner. And in groups the warlock is simply elite.

I solo pk with my warlock all the time. Let me have a pet now in addition to my elemental.

It's still near impossible for some classes (*hintswashiehint*) to take a prepared warlock with his elemental. I would not want him to have a pet too only because of the class I play, but since I do agree the necro sort of makes this all moot, he should either get shafted a bit, or the swashie gets some way to deal with the situation.

(I've played reach-warriors, paladins and hellions. None of those classes were incapable of killing a warlock with pet and elemental out.)

There are many ways for a swashbuckler to take out a warlock with an elemental. Just because you lack imagination doesn't mean that they're overpowered.

Since I was CERTAIN you'd say that...

1) I've read your own logs where you fail to take on warlocks, even after taunting them / dirting them. I am not saying you will be killed, but you won't kill him either. The one I remember right now, got you killed anyway, or running with 2-3% and magma'd, resist elements saving your arse.
2) There's really no imagination involved with that class. You use three skills, and that's about it. (Two, if the other guy is flying).

Unless you mean to tell me I should use a crossbow. That's another case, and not one I'm willing to argue here.

How about the flee command?

The average dipshit warlock types in follow xxx before attacking them. Then they proceed to attack, once their elemental engages in combat with you, you can rip them right away from their precious meat shield and proceed to chop them into tiny bits.
