On dispelling a NPC with sactuary it seems that there are 3 different messeges...2 of them I can understand but the third? Option 1 [HP:100%] [ME: 74%] [PE:100%] > You utter the words, 'eugszr waouq'. (Dispel Magic) You fail to break any spells. [HP:100%] [ME: 69%] [PE:100%] Option 2 [HP:100%] [ME: 79%] [PE:100%] > You utter the words, 'eugszr waouq'. (Dispel Magic) [HP:100%] [ME: 74%] [PE:100%] Option 3 [HP:100%] [ME: 59%] [PE:100%] > You utter the words, 'eugszr waouq'. (Dispel Magic) An inn bouncer's ward of sanctuary vanishes. [HP:100%] [ME: 53%] [PE:100%] The sanctuary was only dispelled after I got the first two a few times. I assumed that when it doesn't say 'you don't cancel any spells' it means you did cancel some, or there were none...except in this case (and the many other times i've fought the bouncers) that is not the case, as the sanctuary IS there and it CAN be dispelled...it just isn't? |

From what I've seen (and I'm no spellcaster), there are always three options. Your spell cast fails, the person you are casting against saves against the spell, or your spell cast succeeds. I would agree that a clear message on each situation would be helpful. |

I believe that baldwama is right. There are three types of messages. You can fail. The NPC can resist (no message) or you succeed. |

All three of those were when the spell succeded in being case, there was no 'You fail.' There has to be 4 options in this case...or something. |

What I think: All three dispells were successful. The first one landed on the NPC, but the roll did not dispell his spell-up (sanctuary in this case). The second one was resisted by the NPC. The third one landed successfully, and the roll dispelled his spell-up. |
