Code:
You utter the words, 'szculayuqann'.
Your petrification spell turns a fair male human to stone!
A fair male human is DEAD!!

Your punch at a red-haired male human's right arm is deflected by some dull black gauntlets.
Overall, a red-haired male human has a few scratches.

Please note that I had sleep cast on the red-haired human, and after I petrified the other person, I attacked him for some reason?

Uh, dunno if this is how it's supposed to be, or what.

We were grouped so since you started combat with an aggressive spell you automatically moved on to attack the next target. That woke him from sleep.

That doesn't really make sense though, since you can cast petrify at a sleeping person 20 times and you won't start hitting them, but once it works, you start hitting the other person?

[REDACTED]. If that's true then a failed petrification attack or whatever would wake up the "victim" because you started combat with a spell and then you had to go through rounds of combat.

But that's not true since you can blind, curse, plague, poison, deafen, weaken, mana leech, etc. etc. while they are sleeping. Since you do not start combat with any victim that is sleeping then it is a bug that you would start attacking a group from ANY spell cast that successfully landed.

If you disagree with me then your logic is flawed and you should be shot.

That's the way maledictions have always worked. You cast it at sleeping target, it doesn't wake them. Cast it at a conscious one and it starts combat.

First you said he was asleep, and now he's awake? Make up your mind.

Her casting petrification does not wake the sleeping target. Her casting petrification and auto attacking the next group member wakes a sleeping PC.

Petrification and maledictions are just some of those exception spells.

The way it seems you want it to be is either that failed maledictions wake the target or that it never aggros them at all.

This is how it has always worked:
A sorceroress can keep someone asleep and charm/petrify until it lands, likewise with maledictions by a shaman.

What happened was:
The sorceress in this scenario was in 'melee' against the first victim, evidently shown by her hp%, and when the first victim was dead, she moved onto the next (grouped) victim. Melee attack then woke the sleeping foe.

Syn was thinking along the lines of:
A petrification (possibly behind a pet) to land on the first victim, since sorceress does not go into melee, this will not wake the sleeping foe.

Why is she auto attacking the next group member though?

It's like if somebody had really low hp and you casted an acid blast and killed them, you would automatically attack the next person in their group.
