The University Museum
Miscellaneous items of varying age and quizzical purpose
lie scattered on tables and shelves. While at one time this area
may have been organized, it now looks like it is mostly a storage
area for stuff that's too precious to throw away but too useless to keep
handy.
This room has become a de facto hallway, with the mountain
of bric-a-brac and curios piled up leaning over dangerously
towards the middle of the corridor. It does not appear that much time is
spent here by anyone.
An abandoned chalk board lies, barely visible, in the corner.

The University Laboratory
It is clear from the worn path leading through this room that few
spend time here. There are some glass tubes and beakers on a marble
table, and a series of flat copper pans next to a jar of needles and
dissection knives. Clay pots marked with the names of chemicals and
substances line tall shelves.
The close, dark walls leave little room for maneuvering. An old, stuffed
diplopod majorus hangs over the eastern entrance as a curiosity. A set
of stairs leads up.

For some odd reason, both in the wilderness and indoors, Ruri just can't see in the dark sometimes. Yet he can still sense everyone in the realms. Any ideas?

My guess is that it has to do with a special cabal spell. Not a bug.

Yeah, but no one else was there, and that particular room is (almost) always like that, whereas the wilderness it just seems to happen randomly.

By the by, it wasn't black as midnight, just pitch black.

Perhaps someone was linkdead in the room? I think that's how it used to work in the past, it was discussed a couple years ago as well.

There was only one other character in the room.

Note, with infravision, Ruri can see just fine. As soon as its removed, same issue.

That room is different. I think that room is by design.

However, any other room, even with a light-source, the whole place is in pitch black. It could be something to do with someone being link dead like Dark-Avenger suggested. I hate this bug. Because this happens everywhere for whatever unknown reasons that cause it. Very often it happens at portal stones (most newbies go link dead there?). Sometimes at shops, etc.

I remember though, back when Alshain was Noubio he commented on this bug too. That was like 5 years ago? This bug still exists today for non-infravision races. :(

I know of one item that seems to make rooms like that.

I've been noticing this just recently, that even with glowing items i've been running into random rooms in the wilderness (completely random ones) that i can't see in at night.

Well, since he can sense others in the realms it is not the cabal spell. I know that you cannot sense anyone else besides yourself when in the room with that specific effect. I have never been in a room like that. Hmmmm . . ..

I believe it's when people void... I've seen it at Inns and stones quite a bit.
