Alright, as it is, every bard chord except for B aug and to some degree F minor is just sucky as it is now. This is not because I'm currently playing a bard, but because I recently encountered one and I felt pity. This is an example from a fight between a mentor hellion with equipment only holding natural enchantments against a gm bardess. [HP: 61%] [ME: 28%] [PE:100%] > xxx sings a chord that makes your heart rattle in your chest. [HP: 61%] [ME: 28%] [PE:100%] ---- [HP: 61%] [ME: 28%] [PE:100%] > xxx sings a chord that makes your gear vibrate violently. A small clay box is splintered by sonic waves! A coiled thrashing claw is splintered by sonic waves! A clawed swordcatcher brace is splintered by sonic waves! A lacquered yari is splintered by sonic waves! A serrated steel yataghan is splintered by sonic waves! A runed clay bracelet tied with dark leather is splintered by sonic waves! A set of burnished red steel munnions is splintered by sonic waves! Some moon-crested plate mail is splintered by sonic waves! [HP: 60%] [ME: 28%] [PE:100%] --- My priest is able to soak up all damage from f minor/c major, I haven't been doing testing with B aug, but I assume that still deals a very healthy amount of damage. However there are serious drawbacks from the chord, it attracts massive amounts of agro and the only real use of it is cabal defense and a few happen-bys. Suggestions could be to let art work on chords, however as bards are now they have more than a hard time deciding what to place stat points in as it is, so that would present yet another problem. Or just boosting dmg or not let MP affects chords. |

Art does work on chords. Remember art doesn't affect how much damage something does. It just affects saving throws. I agree f minor/b aug need some tweeking in terms of damage though. C major could use some help but not that much since it is an ametuer skill. F minor should affect your party and b aug should do more damage and shouldn't be affected by deafness. [edit]I meant to type f minor shouldn't affect your group |

I would really like if F Minor would not affect your group, at least if you are dancing. It seems very difficult to understand why two of three chords available MUST hit everyone in the room without exceptions, for a class that is primarily useful in a group. But I figure there's some reason this isn't available... unbalancing or something. Still, the chords seem a bit useless at times, indeed. |

Yeah, if you are dancing then I agree F minor shouldn't affect your group. I additionaly think that when you are dancing that the other power chords damage should be raised or their additional affect should be greater. Although, I think f minor shouldn't affect the group, if it is to not affect the group then it should be harder for the secondary effect to work. I know that in pk situations that the secondary effect would be awesome if it works the way suggested. |

Songs are way too overpowered to overpower chords as well. |

DA, Now I know why you think the bardic songs are overpowered. You are one of the summon-kill sorcs/necros. From reading the summon thread. Sorry, there are classes out there that will just own sorcs/necros. You are probably one that things that BoG, and the Spear spell should be gimped |

No, after testing a bard's songs of sleep and songs of silence(playing one and against one), I know they are OVERPOWERED and can definitaly decide what group wins a battle. Simple as that. |

So, does summon but you are saying that it shouldn't be gimped. |

25 willpower will save you from summon. 25 of any save won't save you from songs of sleep. I've seen that happening to my centaur vs Gasbah. |
