Make this highly offensive spell and opposive roll between the two casters?
Especially for 'ongoing' spells like charm/control unded, cancellation is too much. It has no save and doesn't even check for mirror images. (Yes, I've tried that long long time ago.)

eg. The evil necromancer is trying to maintain his control over the nasty undead creature using heavy concentration and the good priest of the light decides to cancel the poor undead and save it from his ill intentions for the sake of RP!!

Shouldn't they get opposed checks?
(concentration/intelligence/caster level check)

I've placed this to the bug forums because cancelling a charmed creature will result in an immediate attack towards the caster, no matter it's current state.

eg. If the charmie just bashed someone, will blatanly ignore the code delay and focus it's attack on the caster the exact second cancellation is cast.

PS. I dont' see why cancelling a charmie turns it against the caster anyhow...When the caster releases it, everything is just fine.

It's not an offensive spell, it is a defensive spell to remove a plethora of maledictions, hence no save. Perhaps remove charm person, dominate, or control undead from the list of spells it impacts?

*shrug*

Cancellation has a save if it's casted at a target outside your group.

I have cast it on quite a few, and have never seen proof of that... But who am I.

I have noticed that against more "elite" players, my cancellations work a lot less often. I'm pretty sure it has a save.

I have failed to cancel several people's charmies or undead more than once. Since the spell did go through i only guess it has a save.

I have no idea if it has or not, but it really really should have a save if cast on a target outside of your group. It's one of those 'defensive' spells that are equally 'offensive'. Without a save, it is/would be way overpowered.

Also, is it really meant to ignore mirror images?

No. What I am saying, however, is that some of the more twinkish necromancers have found ways to combat this. I don't know if its MR, will saves, or Art, and it could just be luck.

I don't know anyone who even use 'control undead' in PK's anymore.

In any case, dispel magic on the caster sounds a lot more reasonable way to free a charmie. In that way people could use HW while having charmies in their groups.
