Weird incident of a mummy somehow healing itself after casting a harm spell and failing... Quote: [HP: 96%] [ME: 32%] [PE: 99%]

[HP: 97%] [ME: 35%] [PE: 99%] > You utter the words, 'gszabra ay yauhp'. A bright spear of light appears in your hand! You toss your glowing spear at someone and rejoice as it hits it. Someone is mortally wounded, and will die soon, if not aided. [HP: 97%] [ME: 30%] [PE: 99%] I don't understand how he went from pretty hurt to big nasty wounds and scratches without any sort of time cycle occurring. I wasn't deafened either, just blinded. Is this a bug, or do the mummies heal themselves automatically even in between the time ticks? |

I'm guessing Adder is right, and that is a harm spell cast on itself. Certainly it wasn't cast on you. |

Hmm, I suppose that's a possibility. I guess I didn't think the mummies were coded to do that; I figured the mummy just failed casting the spell on me. Remove the post, it's all cleared up! |

lol achernar, read further. It mentions "pretty hurt" after the section that you quoted. Quote: [HP: 96%] [ME: 32%] [PE: 98%] > e The fear dissipates. [HP:100%] [ME: 35%] [PE:100%] > You run east. You can't see a thing! Someone slices at your chest, barely scratching you. what you quoted [HP: 97%] [ME: 35%] [PE: 99%] > You miss someone. Overall, someone looks pretty hurt. [HP: 97%] [ME: 35%] [PE: 99%] > sof You start to concentrate. [HP: 97%] [ME: 35%] [PE: 99%] > Someone utters the words, 'qkadagz gzfuajg'. [HP: 97%] [ME: 35%] [PE: 99%] > Overall, someone has some big nasty wounds and scratches. The second and third bolds are the actual changes in condition. |

Mummies heal themselves in combat. Have done so since they cast spells in combat I think. No scripts no tricks, just a tatical move for undead. |

After fighting a few more, I've noticed that they "cause" spells on themselves and get life back, and that's exactly what happened in the log I posted. I just didn't realize that any NPC was equipped to do that. Not a good or a bad thing, just live and learn. Thanks to Adder for pointing out what should have been the obvious. |
