Code: > c 'special malediction' NPC Is this a bug? I know that you should be able to cast this while in combat, I did it after releasing fly. So, does being in combat lower your concentration max (even though she was technically missing me)? Bug or feature? Discuss.
You start to concentrate. > c blind sin You utter the words, 'cool words'. Something happens. NPC misses you. [HP:100%] [ME: 48%] [PE: 99%] > You start to concentrate. Your concentration drops for each person you're fighting. |

I don't think combat lowers it exactly, but each person your in melee with. It was missing you, so your concentration was being sapped a bit by having to move dodge and etc. Next time stand behind the wight, and you should be fine. |

Concentration is harmed by NPCs you are in direct combat with. If you aren't actually taking hits or hitting then you shouldn't notice a loss in it. It can be seen with any spell on any class, as well as bards when singing/dancing. As NPCs die you will slowly regain concentration. |

Actually, I wasn't being hit and I wasn't in combat (the NPC had reach). So, just trying to hit somebody lowers their concentration. Thanks for the explanation. |

I dont know if you attacking lowers it, but being attacked yourself does. Every person who is aiming on you lowers you concentration. |

Your maledictions entered you in to combat with the NPC as far as coding is concerned. You can also see in the clip you quoted that the NPC was directly missing you. This does put you in combat and while it missed you that one time it was still attempting to hit you. |

It's just a matter of semantics. I say I'm not in combat if I'm not attempting to hit him with a weapon. I am engaged in combat, yes, but I am not the one attacking. That's what I meant. |
