In recent events, I have witnessed ethereal warders catching the plague and spreading the plague to all others in the room.

Given that when ethereal, the caster is unable to affect anything else but other ethereal people, why would the plague be any different?

When ethereal is cast, they go to a different plane. They are not in the same realm as we are. That to me means that they should not be able to catch the plague nor give it to those who are not ethereal.

And this is what happened and an immortal knows it happened because they switched into the warder.

This has to be a bug.

This wouldn't be the first bug with etherealform....does anyone remember when you could put an ethereal person in the front row to take the hits?

Since we're talking about etherealform bugs, what about the fact that you can dodge attacks from solid people while you're ethereal? If your dodge check triggers you dodge the attack you're considered to be in battle and your concentration drops accordingly. And if there are lots of aggressive NPCs in the room it seems to have you in battle with them all until an attack hits and passes through you. I've died to that a few times.

I think this has a point ethereal or not, someone hits you, instintcively you try to dodge it and your pulse races.
