When using fang it lets me use self-defence.

They are ment to be but this one has no weapon type, thus is not actualy a weapon in anything but name.

Although, yes, it should have a class/subclass in that description.

There isnt a weapon type in the identification of the weapon. As far as I can tell it has no type for it to be a sub type of. It should be a dagger, self defence, brawling or wild fighting. My reason for thinking this is a bug because the item was created by automatic that doesnt fit into the weapon code.

As claws are either a curved dagger or a wildfighting weapon if you are a barbarian, the same is propably happening here. If you don't have the skill to use one subtype, it turns to another.

I thought this was brought up before about another claw and they had decided to make it only one wpn type. The imm's would have to chime in on this but, I thought the decision was to make all weapons only be in one category.

Yes....bug. Fangs, like claws, had some stuff missing, so they weren't being created properly. They should be creating properly now.
