If I'm fighting a NPC and I charm it, it stops fighting me. But if I'm standing behind a pet, and the NPC is fighting my pet, and I charm the NPC shouldn't it stop fighting my pet as well?

Not really. Your pet technically doesn't know what the heck you're doing to your enemy, and as such, won't stop attacking even if it means they're both under your control.

I think this is technically a bug, since you should be able to say "Hey, stop fighting each other" but there's no command for such a thing.

They are engaged, and will fight until they disengage, it's part of the AI. Sleep them or just walk a room away, the charm will be removed from the charmer, panic and flee. Your pet will not persue.

I think stop only stops dancing and singing in SK, not fighting.

There currently is no way to simply "disengage". The only ways to end combat after it has begun are movement out of the room i.e. fleeing wording et cetera, charming them and they are only hitting you, sleeping them, stunning them, killing them. If 2nd rank you can disengage by removing your weapon and preventing reach, but the person in front rank will continue to fight unless you are magically 2nd rank with no one in front of you... which can happen with transfer bugs.

So do one of these, either sleep them, make them flee, or stun them.

If you walk out of the room (either after you remove your weapon in the second row, either by fleeing) then the charmed ones will leave as well all you have to do then, is pick them up from where they walked to.

There should be a stop command.

Meantime, have your pet take a nice snooze if your intention is to charm a NPC. ;)

I would agree that the existing code is a bit clunky.
