I wish I had a log of this event as I'm going to describe it. I don't however, so I'll attempt to illustrate it the best I can and see if people can offer reasonable explanations and decide if it's a bug or just another SK 'feature'. I was traversing the roads of Pyrathia and was mounted on my trusty steed when I ran into an aggressive NPC that was just a little too powerful for me. My mount and I engaged the fiend, and my poor steed missed it's first bash (something I didn't want it to do, as I wanted it to rescue my broken [REDACTED] and let me get away!). The entire fight, the mount was on its butt and unable to do anything. I couldn't order it to buck me (which is probably impossible to do during a fight anyhow), I couldn't order it to rescue me, I couldn't order it to bash again, and I couldn't order it to flee. Looking back, I probably could have ordered it to stand, but I died too fast to try it. Instead I had resorted to a flee attempt or three, but in each attempt I got spammed with a message about how my mount was being too stubborn to move (or something to that affect). I'm wondering: wouldn't it make sense that if you are mounted on a pet and it misses its bash and ends up on the ground and unable to flee, that it stand up if you continue to fight after it's bash lag wears off? If it had been in direct combat in the front row with 'auto assist', I believe it would have automatically stood up and started fighting again. At least, that how I think it used to work. My memory may not be serving me incorrectly. I was able to recover my belongings well enough after reincarnating, but as a new player to the game something like this might [REDACTED] me off. It might deserve a little tweaking. |

stand would have worked I think. I see your point, however, that it shouldnt have to be ordered to stand while fighting already. |

This also works on players. I've noticed that sometimes while assisting with my swash, if I try to trip something and fail that once in awhile I have to type stand before I can do anything else. This is while grouped with people taking blows. O all stand resolves the issue with steeds and it something that's annoyed me for many years now. |

This is only a problem if you are helping out with the fight and not taking hits or being hit with spells. Once you take a hit from a weapon or spell you will be standing without typing stand. Did the NPC attack the horse first or did it attack you. If the horse was attacked then yes that is kind of broken. However if you were attacked first then it make sense. |

It was an aggro NPC. It attacked me. The horse was standing right under me and auto assisted and then bashed and missed on its own. After a few rounds of combat, when I tried to flee, it still wasn't standing. I don't see how a horse that I'm sitting on while I'm fighting would just stay on the ground. It makes no sense. |

So it wasn't attacking at all? |

I can't remember. I didn't log it, so I don't know if it stopped attacking after the bash. I don't think it should have. I really wish I had the log. It would explain a lot more. I may try to reproduce it tonight, minus the dying part of course. |

You only automatically stand if you're the one being targeted. Your horse wasn't being hit, so it didn't stand back up on its own. |

Yes, but I guarantee the mount was still fighting. If it's fighting, it should not be resting. Bug. |

The horse would have continued fighting. The problem if not standing up when assisting and failing a trip or bash has been around since I can remember. The pet AI is what causes this problem. A simple fix would be if your mount isnt standing when you type flee it gets an auto stand order sent to it (no order lag). Problem solved if its still lagged from bash when you flee it doesnt go anywhere if not then it will stand up and flee. I agree it is a pain in the butt. To get around it I go with two commands wimpy 100;o all stand. It would be better to fix the problem of not standing up when assisting if you fail a trip or bash. |
