C Major should check against intimidation, the same as any in-room magical non-ranged attack would that is single targeted.

Recent abuse of this loophole by a bard has brought it to my attention that there is no check.

Nothin can stop me from singin', I have the soul of a singer and I will NOT be OPPRESSED!

Seriously though, this is intriguing. Are any other of the bardic chords affected by intimidation as well?

C major is the only chord that is indeed directed to one person in specific. I think that it should check for intimidation, too. All other chords are affecting room, so they should not. There are other songs a bard can use to go around intimidation, anyhow.

Uhm. I guess I need to make my random number evidence rant again. When dice rolls are involved, it's not a good idea to base your claims on just one or two incidents. Just because c major cut through YOUR intimidate, doesn't mean that there is no check.

Quote:
[HP: 95%] [ME: 72%] [PE: 67%]
alias kk sing c scabrous

Markandeya tells the group 'Go back north.'

[HP: 95%] [ME: 72%] [PE: 67%]
> Kk realiased to 'sing c scabrous'.

(insert move spam)

[HP: 95%] [ME: 72%] [PE: 63%]
kk
Your attack falters as you near a scabrous male half-elf.
You chord rings through the air unheard.

[HP: 95%] [ME: 72%] [PE: 63%]

I think intimidate might be charisma-based, and since bards usually have much better charisma than a hellion, you can see why it hits more often then other targetted skills/spells.

I think intimidation checks are based off of how awesome the characters are.

Obviously Sithara is more awesome than Vorak.

Woah. I've never successfully saved against it. And I save a majority of throws for intimidate.

And this is based off me getting blasted with it repeatedly (I'd say 2 or so dozen times) and not saving once, hence my post.

I guess I should ask D if things haven't changed since the time Sithara failed the intimidation check -- I've never saved against C major.

don't you love dice throws? Works the same way for fod. One day, you're insta-killing GM dwarf and giant barbs and the next, you miss every one of your ten shots on an ashmatic con gnome and an unhealthy con sprite.
