Did the rules for Summon get changed? Someone tried to summon my character yesterday, but I didn't get a room echo showing where they were. All I got was the foreboding "Someone has tried to summon you!"

I've gotten that before. I believe that means they failed the spell cast, so you never even had to make the willpower save against the summon.

No.

That is probably because you were asleep.

If they fail the spell, you will get no echo.

It's happened while I was awake.

There's two other possibilities:

They were resisting summons when they tried to summon you.

or they were trying to summon from inside a warded room, or while you were in a warded room.

That's it. If they're in a warded room, or you are, all you get is the "Someone tried to summon you!" echo.

Ah, of course. Never thought of that.

That's not true. A few months ago, when Yaubl had Vaerta trying to summon Everika and she was in the necropolis safely warded against their spell, I was still getting visions.

It's not when the target is in a warded area. It's when the SUMMONER is in one, or has forgotten to turn off his auto summon.
