I have this:

Code:
This is slingobjectxyz, a small wood weapon, weighing
approximately 1 lbs.  The weapon is a sling.  It is of poor quality and is
worth approximately 1 silver.

Code:
A smooth stone suitable for a sling is here.
This small-sized stone stone is for use with a sling.

..and get this:

Code:
> reload
You can't do that.

EDIT: I'm assuming this is because I haven't trained the skill yet. I was just curious if crossbow/bow work like this as well. You could previously attempted to use them and launch ammo with them even without the skill trained. I just noticed I can't even throw the sling stones with the skill untrained.

EDIT2: Are there even any trainers for this yet?

I found a help file!

Help File wrote:
help sling
[Skills help] sling

Syntax: throw <object> <target>
Syntax: shoot <target>

A sling is a projectile weapon that has a small cradle in the middle of two
lengths of cord. It is used to throw a blunt missile such as a stone. The
sling skill is used whenever a stone is used as a weapon, regardless of
whether it is shot from a sling or thrown by hand.

Sling stones can be purchased or found in the ground by using dig.

Both 'shoot' and 'reload' give error messages. :(

Please have patience. When it comes to adding new skills and item types to the game, it may take a day or two for things to come up to speed. That first sling had an incorrect object setting. It should be fixed now.

I'm still having problems with this.

I haven't figured out how to use the sling rather than just throw rocks.
