            Waves of tall grasses and grains stand almost waist high as
   ppppy   far as the eyes can see in almost every direction.  Very scarcely
   pp*pp   scattered about the landscape is the occasional tree, usually
   -----   thin and lightly-leaved.   A waning crescent moon hangs in the
           sky.  It's cloudy, freezing, and there is absolutely no wind.
