You get a cold-iron spiked mace, decorated with rose-engravings from a bloodstained fur mantle.

This terrible weapon is forged of strong cold-iron. It has a long, slightly curved shaft which comes to an end in a large, solid ball. Alternating rows of spikes and nubs cover the head of this mace. Twisted vines and budding roses are engraved up the handle of this weapon.

This spiked mace is a medium-sized mace made of wood.

Always better off logging these at the location the item is found. With a Typo for the builder of the area to look over.

Typo log the room the item can be found it. If you don't know that, typo log the item, and have a builder contact you to figure out where the item is held (if they need to do it at all).

Wortsenawl, if you have previously looked at the item before and it was "his spiked mace is a medium-sized mace made of cold-iron. Then yes there is something significant going on. Easy way to check this is by another one seeing as its a bought item.

Otherwise the problem most likely is a discrepancy between decriptions. A builder could name a item an adamantite great sword. Then build it out of wood by mistake, or out of spite. I believe there is an "adamantite ring" in the game that in its long description explains it is only something crappy made to look like admantite. The short description had it named as adamantite.

I seem to remember that that shop has had similar wood problems before. Sometimes its important to remember what is flavor and what is code.
The lines you get when you look at an item are similar to a description of a player. Its just a text file, a builder could write anything here the same as a player could write anything in their description. The final line is like when you glance at someone. Adjective race and sex or for weapons sub type size and material.

I'd be willing to bet money that the kd of taslamar was changing the material types and descriptions in the shop those are sold in and just forgot to change the material type on that particular mace. A mere oversight I'm sure will be soon corrected if you typo and bug log it.

I think this is a result of the recent changes to that particular store because those maces used to be, I am sure, made of steel.

If I'm remembering correctly everything defaults to wood unless another material type is specified.

Typo log it in the room you killed a NPC/bought the weapon.
