Training in the outpost I come across a bug with the doors a few times. Quote: In a rough-hewn stone cell
Hastily chiseled from the living rock, this enclosure is about ten hands from floor to ceiling and about six paces in width and depth, with no windows, only the door and the feeding slot cut into it. Hardly a comfortable living space, especially for, say, a giant, but there are rumors about of far worse living conditions. At least the floor is covered with a comfortable amount of hay, and it smells likes it is changed not too infrequently. Obvious exits: se(closed) ( 3) The torn-out heart of a kobold is lying here. The severed hand of a wretched-looking kobold is here. The bloody eyeball of a wretched-looking kobold is lying here. The sliced-off arm of a kobold is lying here. A jackal-headed creature prowls here, growling viciously. A jackal-headed creature prowls here, growling viciously. A jackal-headed creature prowls here, growling viciously. A jackal-headed creature prowls here, growling viciously. A lizardman dances here in tight concentric circles. A lizardman stalks his cell here. [HP:100%] [ME: 70%] [PE: 33%] > unlock se open se You can't do that. [HP:100%] [ME: 74%] [PE: 40%] > It's locked. [HP:100%] [ME: 74%] [PE: 40%] > i You are carrying: 31 copper coins 30 silver coins a clear potion a notched thigh bone a thick iron key (brand new) a backpack (brand new) [HP:100%] [ME: 74%] [PE: 40%] I have the key in my inventory, but for some reason I can't unlock the door, Which is wierd becuase I unlocked it from the outside to get in. |

It could be that something you're wearing starts with 'se'. Just type out the full direction, i.e. 'unlock southeast' and you shouldn't have a problem. If something you carry/wear begins with the letters of a diagonal direction, with the double letters, the game tries to unlock that object first - and if it's something that can't be unlocked, well, "You can't do that." I had that problem a lot with 'sw' while wearing a sword. Eventually I dodged around it with a Zmud alias while training in the Outpost or similar places. On a related note, if a character's name starts with sw, ne, se, nw - (the last would be a devil to pronounce) - and someone tries to fire a bow or a spell in one of those directions without typing the command out fully, that character becomes a target. |

The case with this area is simple. Many of the doors in order to unlock them or even open them you have to type out the entire direction. sw nw ne se won't work sometimes. So you must type it out fully. Cause you can be butt naked and only have the key and still be unable to unlock said door if you type unlock sw, nw, ne, se on certain doors. |

SE is a particular [REDACTED] because you, for some reason, attempt to unlock SElf. |

Yeah, I thought I was trapped in there once and sent up a few prays. Finally an IMM answered me and told me to type out the whole direction. I sure felt silly. |

This will also happen occasionally in Nerina's inn. |

Open SW usually tries to unlock your sword. Just type out the full directions. |

thanks everyone, I feel like an idiot because that makes perfect sence. all the other directions worked but se... so it must be trying to unlock 'self'. I'm lazy so I'll change it in my alias to fix that problem. 'door se' unlock southeast open southeast |

Aw, don't feel stupid. As you can see a lot of us have had similar things happen. That being said, I had unlocking the doors over and over again in the outpost. |

Upon having that problem, I tried unlock 1.door, 2.door, etc. It worked too. |
