get crisp quiv
wear crisp
recite crisp
You get a crisp scrap of parchment of death shroud from an etched brass quiver.

You hold a crisp scrap of parchment of death shroud in your hand.

You recite a crisp scrap of parchment of death shroud.
You cannot cast this spell on another.

Okay...

Right. So um.. I'm lost. Is it that only necromancers can recite these scrolls..? I can't see why that would be, though.

If it comforts you, I used to do that quite a bit in the past. 'Recite crisp' will try targetting anything 'crisp' in the room. For non-offensive spells you want to cast on yourself via a scroll, 'recite' or just 'recite self' works fine.

I tend to use the latter, just because I am tempted to put in a target each time.
