The Imperial Stables
There is much less room here than you would have thought, looking in
from the outside. The majority of the building is behind wooden half-doors
which are locked. Most of them contain horses, which the livery-master
sells to certain travelers. The horses appear to be of excellent quality,
of the same stock the Empire Chasseurs use in battle.

They simply never had the option to be named. Not them, nor the paladin's mounts. To be honest, I find it pretty reasonable. Who knight would treat their horse with a pet-name? I would hate to see knights around calling their horses Dorries etc.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't some knights consider their steeds very important thus giving them a name? After all, a steed often times reflects on a Knight's presence.

If a knight calls his horse Dorries, he should be put to death by sprite overdose. If a knight wants to call his horse Dusk, Nightstorm, Shadow, etc, then he should damn well be able to do it.

The whole ability to name your pet needs to be re-vistited.

I'm tired of people naming their pet their ADJ or their own name, or something that starts with those same letters. Its rather cheator.

This is impossible now. However, what isn't impossible is people taking adjectives to match the pet they intend to use.

How recent? A few weeks ago a certain now-deleted character was doing this

That -is- a problem, although I don't know that you've got much of a right to talk, Mr. I-Named-My-Horse-Curvania. It's also annoying when you do it by accident. Here's an example: I give my hellion an adjective beginning with "black" (ie. black-haired, black-eyed) without thinking about buying the nightmare. Once I get my large black horse, I realize that people are starting to talk to my horse instead of me. (Luckily, the IMMs are nice people who will give an adjective change if asked for it within reasonable limits.)

Wouldn't it be possible to put people first when listing targets? Or, at least, in front of their pets?

Disable naming of pets. Problem solved.

Simple enough, but I know a lot of people, my self included, like being able to summon your pets back.
