Before, when you died all timed effects would continue on per normal. This included timers for things such as, but is not limited to, conjure elemental recasting, spirit disorientation, and exorcism.

Now when people would die and die and die and die they would rack up a LOT of SDs and one cure for this was to just sit and wait in the river psuedo afk while they wore off.

I believe that this pissed off some people so they changed it so no effects ticked off in the river so you can't get away from SD by being afk.

What did this do? It made death more impactful, it made SD a bit more painful, it annoyed a few warlocks out there, and it made it IMPOSSIBLE to remanifest after an exorcism.

For most PCs out there, this is no issue as you can get a res/raise/breath/reincarnate, and exorcism is very very rarely used anyway. For some of us who RP long dead ghosts, the minute you get exorcised you need to get a slay from an IMM to get back topside other than death questing. I feel that this inability for exorcsim to tick off whilst dead is a bug and that the timer for effects should be reinstated even if you are dead, and another solution should be used to combat AFKness to deal with SD.

I don't know what you are talking about. Conjure elemental recasting doesn't reset upon death. It continues normally

hehe, I believe Dulrik himself said Dead characters are meant to just fade away and be forgotten.

First, he's largely talking about the EXORCISM EFFECT. Second, no, it doesn't, you have to be alive for the conjure elemental timer to continue.

It continues just fine. A while ago it continued *while* you were dead, so typically by the time you got back to life it reset.

But yes, OA is right, and Bobby, I'm only on Ghent from time to time and only to RP.

I'm not Playing SK, I have break up RP from time to time until I stop caring. Then I'm really gone.

As for dead characters fading away to be forgotten? No.

It's been a long time since I played a warlock, but I thought when you died and came back to life you could make another elemental, no matter the timer?
