One failed berserk takes about as much lag time as a bash, that can cost your whole life in PK, sometimes I fail 2 or 3 times in a row, but both are mastered, sucks.... Don't know if anybody else had these troubles, but it can cause problems. Not sure if that's a bug or not, but it's getting to be a pain. |

Not sure if I'm giving away IC info here, but the more you're hurt, the better the chance of success... Trouble is that you have to go without berserk/fury the first few rounds to make that happen and hope you're not bashed by the time you're ready to fire it off. |

I noticed that with my last barb as well. I made sure I had a way to do myself a little bit of dmg before I walked into combat, I noticed if I wasn't at 100HP it almost always went off. |

Alot of people ask me why I'm always furied, this is why, don't want get caught in battle and have to berserk in the middle of it and fail after I'm unbashed... *SIGHS* |

Because the bonuses from a successful fury are so huge it needs a counter balance. No bug here. If you want your skill to always be active, roll a mercenary. |

I find that the fail rates are streaky. I'll get a good streak of furies, regardless of health (I tend to hit it before I need it) and then get three to four fails in a row. I try not to rely on it (that totally sucks because its a fundamental part of the barb class) because it is unreliable and when you really do need it, you can pretty much count on a failure. But thats my opinion. N_G |

Don't know if anybody else had these troubles, but it can cause problems. Not sure if that's a bug or not, but it's getting to be a pain. This doesn't suck. Try playing a barb that one berserk, successful or not, costs him the ability to recall (anyone remembers the 50% pe rule?). Things are much better now. And there are ways to fight your battles with fury almost always on. If you like the character like you say I bet you will find them sooner or later. |

As for the <first-round fury> vs. <wait-until-you're-injured fury> debate... I've seen barbs who favor one approach or another [whether for RP reasons, tactical reasons, or a combination of both], and I think the advantages and disadvantages of each one should be self-evident to those who are playing barbs. I also think they make sense. I haven't played a barb since before combat steadily drained PE, and that fact is the only - the ONLY - reason I could remotely see the success rate needing to be higher at all. Being 100% reliable [especially when uninjured] just doesn't suit the nature of the skill. Now, the barbarian class skill that you can always count on failing is headbutt... but that'd be a different thread entirely. |
