It seems if I log out of the realms with a charm and a pet, when I log back in my pet will be gone.

The first time this happened to me was right at server reboot and I didn't quit so I figured that had something to do with it.

It happened to me again this morning though. I logged out in the same room as my charm and pet. When I logged back in my pet was gone.

Is this known? Intentional?

It has happened to me when I voided before

The first time, during server reboot, I didn't use the quit command but logged in right when the server came back up.

The second time, I did use the quit command, and logged in about 5 minutes later.

From my experience you have to either be in the same group with your pet, or at least mounted (if able). Disappearing to the void and going link-dead will get you to lose it as well.

I could be wrong though.

Any reset of the server returns all non-pet charmies. Also, I didn't think that you could 'save' a charmie when you logged off.

Same room with charmed pet. No need to be in the group, just the same room.

If you have a charm/control/(I think) animate in the same room with you and a store-bought pet when you log off, you will lose the store bought pet. And, of course, the charm/control/animate will be gone when you log back in as well. The solution is to order your control/charm/animate to rest, leave the room, and then log off.

Or release charm/control/animate, quit.

More often than not, if you do that in the same room as the charm/control, it'll attack you. Safest just to leave the room.
