Why have these (at least Moraksdal's and Menegroth's) been made no-magic? It is very annoying.

No offense to Achernar, but it's a really poor way of balancing the jail system that he apparently barely thought through.

In many cities the judges room is the only place to check the outlaw list, in the Empire it's one of the only two rooms that hold GM NPCs (the other being very far away from menegroth).

And still, as if [REDACTED] creating a nomagic in the judge will affect attackers - omg no, now they have to have someone who can cast a spell from a room away to get the key from the judge! And then they go to the room without any nomagic, the room outside of the jail, and unlock the door without losing their spells.

In Taslamar, the place people complained about, this is impossible - the nomagic is outside of the jail and must be entered to free someone.

I'll nix the nomagic then. Its not really necessary at any of the jails. There are other solutions which require more work to implement, but are in my head.

All jails should be a [REDACTED] to break out of. None should be a walk in the park. Give each judge twelve arms and allow them to wield khopesh type weapons in each hand.

I just think a Judge should be one of the hardest NPCs to kill in game.

But what does newbies know anyhow?

Judges should be easy enough that a large group can kill them no sweat, but hard enough that noone can do it alone without some form of aid. All of them are fine at the moment as far as I know.

*easier*

just make them like exile.. no "judge room" involved. Nomagic outside the cells, key on a separate NPC surrounded by guards.. that way the judge (which IMO should be considered elder citizens of whatever the city is.. ) chambers dont get messed with.

A convicted felon is going to seek revenge against the attourney that prosecuted him.. not the judge that presided.

I'm fine with it being easy to break people out of jail with just a couple of people so long as the tribunal gets a warning that the breakout is in progress. It should be primarily the role of PCs to defend the cities anyway. If no PCs are around to help, so be it. Easy escape for the criminal.

I'm for keeping characters out of positions where they can't do anything, though, so I'm a bit biased on this one.
