 Post subject: Mode stun -> Mode kill for the final blow?

This has happened several times, but not consistently. Is there something causing this that I am doing, or not doing?

I was in mode stun, and didn't type mode kill, it just switched on its own. It usually happens on the final blow, but occasionally on the initial round.

I highly doubt he entered any sort of attack. This bug has been around forever.

Don't know if anyone's figured out what tends to trigger the auto switch from stun to kill but it's a big pain when you're trying to stun NPCs like Zshar in the Temple of Murder.

No, Its still that way.

If you stun a target then attack them again, it does switch you to mode kill

From that log, it looks like you may have ticked between concentrating and casting. Not entirely certain.

I didn't touch the keyboard, was just watching combat, and suddenly the target was dead, rather than stunned.

Agreed, very irritating bug. Glad to know it is known though, and not something I was doing.
